Start with a short, complete sweep
Begin with the zone nearest you. Work around its edge, then inspect its central landmarks. Keep the same order on a second pass so you can spot what changed. Use the numbered list below to record a search; a checked spot means you looked there, not that a piece is guaranteed to spawn.
If Yin or Yang is missing
Look at the current game prompt first: an already collected half may change the next action. A community-reported spot may be empty because it is temporary or another player reached it first. Finish your sweep before repeating a single empty corner.
Timing without a false countdown
Published guides estimate a 5–10 minute spawn window and a 15-minute cave cooldown. These are community observations. A personal stopwatch cannot reveal the server state, so read the cave prompt and restock banner before another run.
Turn a search into a completed run
When both halves are available, follow the cave interaction and inspect the reward. If you receive a candy pot, plan the delivery before picking it up. If you need the rare egg, read the Headless Horseman guide and keep its reward chance separate from the hatch result.
